A tragic yet beautiful story connects us to Cédric Martin and his family.

Cedric Martin

Cédric Martin
Cédric and Ariane, our president, met in the midst of the war in Bosnia.
They shared their professional lives in that country and stayed in touch despite the missions that kept them apart. Cédric had expressed a desire to come help us carry out one of our projects in Central America. But tragedy struck on June 4, 1996, when Cédric and two of his colleagues were murdered during a humanitarian mission in Burundi. Through this tragedy, which touched us all deeply, deep bonds unite us with Cédric’s family.

In the years that followed, MOST dedicated three projects to the memory of Cédric Martin.
The communities involved all wanted to name their new school after Cédric Martin.
Cédric’s parents came to Nicaragua in 1998 for the inauguration of the Cédric Martin School in Casares. Moved by the community’s hospitality and kindness, the idea took root in them to continue what Cédric had never stopped doing: providing water to the most disadvantaged.

In June 2000, they established the Cédric Martin Foundation.
Since then, the Foundation (https://f-cm.ch/) has supported various sanitation projects in Nicaragua, Romania, India, and Switzerland. It has also funded sanitation facilities in schools built by MOST.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Martin family for their unwavering support and enthusiasm for the projects carried out by MOST. The entire team at the MOST Association wishes the Martin family success and happiness as they carry out the projects of the Cédric Martin Foundation.
