Partnership in Afghanistan
The Most Association in partnership with the Nai Qala Association in Afghanistan
As part of efforts to develop education in remote regions of central Afghanistan, the president of the Nai Qala Association contacted us to propose a partnership.
Founded in 2007 and registered in Switzerland, this association has built numerous schools with the support of village communities and local authorities. As a result, many children have received a school education under better conditions starting in kindergarten.
Since both associations share the same values—such as community participation to ensure the sustainability of projects—they have decided to join forces to give these communities hope for a different future.
MOST will support the following two projects:
- the renovation of a school built in 2003 by an NGO in the village of Marghi, Yakawlang District in Bamyan Province, for approximately 250 elementary school students. This will include renovating the roof and walls for a budget of: 28,600 CHF
- participation in the preschool program to open 20 new kindergarten classes (approximately 400 children) in Daikundi Province. The community is providing the appropriate space for teaching. The goal is therefore to provide a starter kit that includes the necessary furniture (blackboard/whiteboard, chairs, rugs, shelves, etc.), educational materials (books, posters, maps, etc.), and hygiene and health supplies (soap, a basin, etc.). This amounts to a budget of CHF 807 per class. Total: CHF 16,140
Total cost: CHF 44,740
These two projects will begin in 2021. The Nai Qala branch in Kabul has committed to providing us with regular updates on the progress of the work, which will be published on our blog.

Daikundi Preschool Program
Fortunately, the program has not been interrupted by the change in government. The school year, which began in May following the end of winter, is currently underway. More than 400 children are benefiting from innovative, high-quality education in 20 villages in the Nili region, the provincial capital of Daikundi.
MOST’s contribution has enabled the purchase of the following for each classroom:
- Educational materials for learning to count, write, and build vocabulary: books, worksheets and audio players, abacuses, posters, buttons, magnets, etc
- Stationery for writing and crafts: paper, cardboard, pens, pencils, erasers, scissors…
- Games and toys: building blocks, toy cars, tea sets, doctor’s kits, jump ropes…
- Hygiene supplies: 400 toothbrushes, soap, tubes of toothpaste, nail clippers, hairbrushes, mirrors, water jugs, first-aid kits, toilet paper, COVID-19 supplies (masks and hand sanitizer)
